Dear CMS Families, We will post final grades to the Aspen Portal on Monday, June 19th by 3 pm. Dear CMS Families, This past week I attended the 8th Grade Washington DC trip. It was a great experience and our students did an awesome job visiting so many places in a short time. Thank you to all the chaperones at CMS and the district who helped make this past week so memorable. All parents who plan to have their students play intramural or interscholastic sports for CMS need to read the CMS Sports Parent Letter to ensure their children can participate. Dear CMS Families, Justin Cameron, our next principal spent Thursday at CMS touring the buildings, meeting students and staff. It was good to have Justin join us for a day before he starts in July. A big thank you to all of the staff that sang in last night’s chorus concert, David Lawrence, Seeta Durvasula, Carrie Bjerke, Sharon Kabelitz, Cheryl Shea, Linda Penniston, Kevin Shancady, Theresa Scalzi, Jobie Fagans, Sarah Pozmanter, Mary Jenkinson and Maria McDermott! Dear CMS Families, I hope that everyone has enjoyed the warm weather. It certainly feels like May now! 8th grade Public Works Field Trip is Wednesday, May 24 from 8:15-12:30.  Please be sure to bring in your permission slip to the office by Monday. All 8th graders will start at Sanborn. Since the cafeteria will be closed, please make sure you pack a lunch. We will be posting preliminary schedules for next year’s 7th and 8th-grade students to the Aspen portal by 12:00 pm Monday. An email will be sent explaining your student’s schedule. Dear CMS Families, Earlier this week CMS 6/7/8 Grade Jazz Band traveled to Reading High School to compete in the Massachusetts Association of Jazz Educators’ Junior Festival. Both bands were awarded Silver Medals for their exceptional performances. Additionally, 6th Grade Bassist Anne McGarry was awarded MVP in her division. Dear CMS Families, On Wednesday the CMS Spider team traveled to MIT to present their work. As I have previously noted, this team has worked with MIT researchers to investigate the properties of spider webs. Attached is the press release which has been forwarded to the Concord Journal.
