6th grade Welcome and Information Night is TONIGHT from 6:45-8:30 pm in the Sanborn Auditorium for parents only.

Honors Choir Auditions began on Wednesday September 6th. Please go online to www.mrriv.weebly.com for practice materials and to sign up for an audition time. Auditions will end on September 25th. Please email Mr. Riv drivenburgh@concordps.org with any questions.

Peer Mentors: Mandatory Peer Mentor training on Thursday, 9/7 after school in the Sanborn library from 2:30-4:30.  For new mentors only!

Lego Robotics:  Anyone interested in building, creating, problem-solving, and programming a robot?  If so, come to the first meeting of this years Lego Robotics teams.  The meeting will be on Friday, September 8th until 3:30 and will be at Sanborn in Room 108.  If you have any questions, contact Ms. Moss.

7th and 8th graders can sign-up for interscholastic soccer and field hockey.  Sign-up sheets are near the main office in each building.  Try-outs begin September 11 at Sanborn and run from 2:30-4:30.  Students must have a physical and a tryout expectation form in order to participate.

6th, 7th, and 8th graders can sign-up for interscholastic Cross-Country.  All students who have a physical on file may participate (no try-out) starting September 11 at Sanborn from 2:30-4:30.

Coats for Kids Club will begin next  Wednesday Sept 13th.  We will meet on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn FACS room. Come join us in planning and organizing our annual Anton’s Cleaners Coats for Kids coat drive. Help strategize ways to encourage participation by both the CMS community and the Concord community at large. Be a part of making this our most successful collection yet.  All grades welcome!!

Bus passes: Students who will be going to a friend’s house after school must have a note from a parent/guardian and from the friend’s parent/guardian.  There will not be bus passes written at dismissal.  All arrangements need to be made in the morning or during lunch.

Animals and Planet Club invites you to our first meeting this year on Wednesday, 9/20 from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab (then every other Wednesday). The Animals and Planet club is part of Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots organization. We create and plan projects that make positive changes happen for animals, the environment and our communities.  Come with your ideas for this year!  Last year some of our projects were Panda Nation and the Silent Auction and helped our community support shelters and organizations like Mustang Makeover, Buddy Dog, Phinney’s Friends, World Wildlife Fund, Greyhound rescue and more. Contact Ms. Peskin or any member of Animals and Planet with questions. Plan to take the 3:40 late bus or have a parent pick you up at 3:40.

Back to School Night for Sanborn is Thursday, September 28 and Peabody is Thursday, October 5 from 6:45-8:30 pm.
