There will be no Fashion Club this Thursday. We will meet next Thursday , January 26th for our final meeting.
Sign ups for Chef’s club will take place the week of Jan 23-27th . Our first meeting time will be Thursday Feb 2nd from 2:30-4:30 in the Sanborn FACS room. We will meet on 4 dates: Feb 2, 9, 16 and March 3. Only sign up if you can attend ALL 4 Thursdays!! There is room for 20 students: 10 from Sanborn, 10 from Peabody. Students will be RANDOMLY picked from the list of students who sign up.
Last Thursday, students from every social studies section at CMS competed in the National Geography Bee Schoolwide Competition. Congratulations to John Griffin who earned first place. Jenna Speer came in second and Alexander Erlich-Herzog placed third. A fantastic effort by all who participated!!
Our Rubic Cube competition is this Saturday 1/21/17 from 10:00 to 1:00 in the Sanborn cafe! Please be at school by 9:30 on Saturday morning. Our last club meeting will be after school this Friday until 3:30. If you are attending the competition, you should make every effort to be there on Friday. We will begin setting up the cafeteria and will practice one last team challenge. If you have not given me your Release Form signed by your parents, please bring it on Friday. You will not be allowed to compete if it is not signed.
YEARBOOK: For the month of January we will be having Yearbook meetings every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. All meetings are held in room 206 at Sanborn from 2:30- 3:40. Please check the calendar in Google Classroom for meeting end times because some meetings will run later than 3:40.
Green Team meets again TODAY in Ms. Shea’s Art Room at Sanborn from 2:30-3:30pm. New members welcome. If you have questions please see Ms. Moran at Peabody or Ms. Shea at Sanborn.
Animals and Planet Club meets TODAY and 2/1 from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab. We are working on the endangered animal project and helping some local shelters and organizations. Come join us and help animals, our environment and the community. Contact Ms. Peskin or any member of Animals and Planet with questions.
Dungeon and Dragons meets today in MOD6 until 4:30.
Media TV meets again on Thursday, January 19th and will include a trip to CCTV community television station, located at CCHS. We will tour the studio, and get to try out their equipment. At dismissal, students will take BUS 30 from CMS to CCHS. Remaining meetings will occur on the following dates, with locations to be announced: Jan 19 (CCHS) Jan 26, Feb 9, March 2, March 16, March 30, April 13, April 27,May 11 and May 25.
Model UN will meet again on Thursday, January 19 and February 2 at Sanborn from 2:30-3:40. We will be continuing our country and topic research for the Bentley Model UN Conference. By the February 2 meeting at the latest, we will need to collect a $50 delegate fee made payable to CMS if you are planning to attend the Bentley Model UN Conference on March 18, 2017. All information for the conference is now posted and available on the CMS Model UN Google Classroom.
Intramural basketball we will meet every Thursday and Friday from 2:30-4:30 in the Peabody gym. These are the additional meeting dates: 1/19, 1/20, 1/26 and 2/2 and 2/3. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Stern or Mr. Rubin. Take bus 14 at dismissal to Peabody.
Minecraft Club meets again on Wednesday, January 25 in the Peabody computer lab from 2:30-3:30. At dismissal, Sanborn students should take bus 14 over to Peabody and come upstairs to the lab. Meetings are planned for the following dates: Jan. 25, Feb. 1, 15, March 8 , 22, April 5, 26, May 3, 17,31 and June 14.
