Animals and Planet Club next meetings will be Wednesdays 11/9  and 11/30 from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab (then every other Wednesday).  We create and plan projects that make positive changes happen for animals, the environment and our communities.  Come with your ideas for this year!  Contact Ms. Peskin or any member of Animals and Planet with questions. Plan to take the 3:40 late bus or have a parent pick you up at 3:40.

Then join Ms. Scalzi and the rest of the 2017 Yearbook Staff. Come to either the first two informational meetings to find out what it is all about. The meetings are Monday, 11-7 and Thursday, 11-10. Both are in Sanborn room 206  2:30-3:40

Dungeons and Dragons will not meet this week.

7th and 8th graders are invited to sign-up for interscholastic basketball try-outs.  The sign-up sheets are at the office in each building.  All students must have a current physical on file with the nurse and a completed try-outs expectation form handed in to the office before the first try-out on Monday, November 28.  Forms can be downloaded from the website.

On 11/28, boys will try-out at Sanborn from 2:30-4:30.  Girls will tryout at Peabody from 2:30-4:30.  Please see the community events calendar for updates on try-out locations and times.

Lego Robotics:  Meets every Thursday and Friday from 2:30 – 4:30 at Sanborn in room 108.  If you have any questions contact Ms. Moss at smoss@concordps.org.

Girls Who Code is Coming to CMS! Have you ever wondered how apps are created? Are you someone who likes to design, create, find solutions, or make things work? Did you know that understanding coding can help you do all of these things? Founded in 2012, GWC is a nationwide club whose mission is to narrow the gender gap in technology by helping girls learn coding to create, design, solve problems, and have fun doing it. Come to an informational meeting on November 21, 2:30-3:30 pm at Sanborn room 208 to learn more and to share ideas. Regular weekly meetings will be held at Sanborn room 208 on Monday afternoons, 2:30-4:30. Not sure? Math Counts meets every Friday at Sanborn in room 101 from 2:30 to 3:40.  Students who enjoy mathematics prepare for and participate in a regional math tournament solving problems as a team and as individuals. Success can lead to state and national tournaments.  Advisor: Aram Boornazian

Thank you to everyone who submitted artwork for the logo contest, and congratulations to Alicia Moran and Luisa D’Ambrosio whose artwork was selected for our CMS T-shirts this year.

Student Leaders are selling CMS T-shirts with student designed logos – Get ready for Maroon and Gold Day! We have a limited number of T-shirts available now that will be sold on a “first come, first served” basis.  Once these are sold, we will take orders for additional shirts (orders may not be ready for M&G day). Buy one now while we have them – $20 per shirt; sales support a CMS charity to be voted upon this month. Come to the library or talk to a Student Leader for details.

Next meeting of the Media AV Club will happen this Thursday in the forum at Peabody from 2:30 -3:30. Sanborn students can take Bus 14 to Peabody. This week,Mr. Rivenburgh will be training students on how to set up and run sound equipment for school assemblies and events. New members are welcome.
