Principal’s Update, October 7

Dear CMS Families,

I had the pleasure of taking part of the Merrowvista trip on Wednesday and saw students both learning about themselves and having fun together. I spent time at the indoor ropes site and helped belay students as they were challenged to complete the elements. The two parts that I most enjoyed were watching students go beyond their “comfort zones” and the support that they lent one another.

We have a busy week next week with our first Principal’s Coffees. This month I will meet with parents by grade level.  Beyond October, there will be a single coffee for each grade. These informal discussions are an opportunity to talk about general school issues that arise over the course of the year.

There will be no after school activities on Wednesday, October 12th in deference to those observing Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement in Judaism.  

We look forward to seeing 6th-grade students and families next Friday evening at the Sanborn building for the BBQ and dance.
