The CMS Engineers’ Club will have an organizational meeting after school TODAY from 2:40 to 3:35 to discuss projects for the year. Bring your ideas. Regular meetings will be held on Mondays. The first Science field trip will be on Saturday, October 15th to MIT. Please pick up an information sheet and permission form in the Office. Parent chaperones are welcome and invited. October Reading Spook-a-thon! Check out a spooky book or mystery, then read, review, and rate it on the DESTINY library catalog to get your name in the cauldron for a halloween drawing. Instructions for reviewing/rating books on Destiny is on our libguide site. Questions? Stop by the library.
Media Audio Visual Club: Sign ups for this new club are happening between now. The club will meet in Sanborn’s Room 102, every other Thursday, beginning Thursday October 13, from 2:30-3:30. We will learn how to use AV recording equipment, run the microphones and sound for the school assemblies and the musical, and create videos and pictures for the hallway TV screens. Students should stop by the front office for a sign-up form.
Model United Nations will meet again TODAY in Sanborn Library from 2:30-3:40. Any students is welcome to join the club, grades 6-8. Please see Mr. Robbins or Mr. Murphy with any questions. Science Olympiad: There will be an informational meeting about Science Olympiad after school TODAY from 2:30 – 3:30 in Room 108 at Sanborn. Come learn about about this year’s topics. Meetings will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 – 4:30. If you have any questions, email Ms. Moss at smoss@concordps.org.
The Lorax will rehearse TODAY and Anne Frank will rehearse Friday until 4:30.
Ultimate Frisbee meets on Thursdays and Fridays at Sanborn from 2:30-4:30 at Sanborn.

Math Team’s first meet is this Thursday, October 13 in Framingham.
Math Counts meets every Friday at Sanborn in room 101 from 2:30 to 3:40. Students who enjoy mathematics prepare for and participate in a regional math tournament solving problems as a team and as individuals.
6th grade Barbecue is on Friday, October 14 from 6:30-9:30 pm at Sanborn for parents and students. Tickets are $10.00 each. Tickets can be purchased on line at cmsptg.org.
Creative Writing begins on Monday, October 17 for 6 consecutive weeks. We will meet in room 104 from 2:30-3:40. Everyone is welcome!!
Art Club meets again on Monday, October 17 from 2:30-3:40 in Ms. Shea’s art room.
Rubic Cube meets on Monday, October 17 in room 101 from 2:30-3:40. Please be sure to have a ride home.
The Pokemon Club will start on Monday, October 17th from 2:30-3:30 in the Sanborn FACS room. It is a fun place to meet and talk to other students who enjoy the game. We will hold battles and discuss various Pokemon topics. Bring your DS, 3DS, 5th and 6th generation games and chargers. Please plan to take the 3:30 late bus or have a parent pick you up at 3:30. Animals and Planet Club next meetings will be 10/19, 10/26 and 11/9 from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab (then every other Wednesday). The Animals and Planet club is part of Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots organization. We create and plan projects that make positive changes happen for animals, the environment and our communities. Come with your ideas for this year! Last year we planned the Silent Auction and Photo Contest to help the fisher and migratory birds at Drumlin Farm’s Wildlife Sanctuary (check out animalsandplanet.weebly.com). In past year’s we have also helped NEADS, Buddy Dog and Nevin’s Farm. Contact Ms. Peskin or any member of Animals and Planet with questions. Plan to take the 3:40 late bus or have a parent pick you up at 3:40.
7/8 grade Halloween Dance is on Friday, October 28 from 7:00-9:00 pm in the Sanborn cafeteria. Tickets are $5.00 each and will only be sold at the door. Costumes are welcome!! Please come to school in appropriate costumes (no full masks or fake weapons). Also, there will be a Boston bus leaving @ 9:00 pm going to Franklin Park. Please sign up in the office if you are interested in taking the bus.
