Student Leaders are looking for Halloween spooky decorations for our haunted house and photo booth. Donation boxes are in both Peabody and Sanborn lobby. Please donate by Thursday, October 13. Thank you!!
Intramural Field Hockey meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30 at Sanborn. Please bring goggles, mouthguards and shin guards to practice. Will resume next Monday, October 17 due to the holiday.
Dungeon and Dragons will resume on Wednesday October 19 due to the holiday.
Flag football meets on Mondays for 6th graders and on Wednesdays for ⅞ graders. We will meet on the Sanborn field until 4:30. Will resume on Monday, October 17 due to the holiday.
The CMS Engineers’ Club will have an organizational meeting after school on Thursday October 13th from 2:40 to 3:35 to discuss projects for the year. Bring your ideas. Regular meetings will be held on Mondays. The first Science field trip will be on Saturday, October 15th to MIT. Please pick up an information sheet and permission form in the Office. Parent chaperones are welcome and invited. Please contact Mr. Shattuck if you would like to join us.
October Reading Spook-a-thon! Check out a spooky book or mystery, then read, review, and rate it on the DESTINY library catalog to get your name in the cauldron for a halloween drawing. Instructions for reviewing/rating books on Destiny is on our libguide site. Questions? Stop by the library.
Media Audio Visual Club: Sign ups for this new club are happening between now and October 13. The club will meet in Sanborn’s Room 102, every other Thursday, beginning Thursday October 13, from 2:30-3:30. We will learn how to use AV recording equipment, run the microphones and sound for the school assemblies and the musical, and create videos and pictures for the hallway TV screens. Students should stop by the front office for a sign-up form.
Model United Nations will meet again on Thursday, October 13 in Sanborn Library from 2:30-3:40. Any students is welcome to join the club, grades 6-8. Science Olympiad: There will be an informational meeting about Science Olympiad after school on Thursday, October 13th, from 2:30 – 3:30 in Room 108 at Sanborn. Come learn about about this year’s topics. Meetings will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 – 4:30. If you have any questions, email Ms. Moss at smoss@concordps.org.
Chef’s Club: Our first meeting time will be Thursday Oct 13th from 2:30-4:30 in the Sanborn FACS room. We will meet for 4 Thursdays, Oct 13th, Oct 20th, Nov 3rd and Nov 10th.
The Lorax will next rehearse this Thursday until 4:30. Anne Frank will rehearse Friday until 4:30.
Ultimate Frisbee meets on Thursdays and Fridays at Sanborn from 2:30-4:30 at Sanborn.

Math Team’s first meet is this Thursday, October 13 in Framingham.
Math Counts meets every Friday at Sanborn in room 101 from 2:30 to 3:40. Students who enjoy mathematics prepare for and participate in a regional math tournament solving problems as a team and as individuals.
6th grade Barbecue is on Friday, October 14 from 6:30-9:30 pm at Sanborn for parents and students. Tickets are $10.00 each. Tickets can be purchased on line at cmsptg.org.
The Pokemon Club will start on Monday, October 17th from 2:30-3:30 in the Sanborn FACS room. It is a fun place to meet and talk to other students who enjoy the game. We will hold battles and discuss various Pokemon topics. Bring your DS, 3DS, 5th and 6th generation games and chargers. Please plan to take the 3:30 late bus or have a parent pick you up at 3:30. Animals and Planet Club next meetings will be 10/19, 10/26 and 11/9 from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab (then every other Wednesday). The Animals and Planet club is part of Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots organization. We create and plan projects that make positive changes happen for animals, the environment and our communities. Come with your ideas for this year! Last year we planned the Silent Auction and Photo Contest to help the fisher and migratory birds at Drumlin Farm’s Wildlife Sanctuary (check out animalsandplanet.weebly.com). In past year’s we have also helped NEADS, Buddy Dog and Nevin’s Farm. Contact Ms. Peskin or any member of Animals and Planet with questions.
