PEER MENTORS: There will be a meeting during homeroom TODAY in the library (both Peabody and Sanborn). Bring your laptops.

Ultimate Frisbee meets today and Friday from 2:30-4:30 at Sanborn.

Chef’s Club:  Sign ups for Chef’s Club will be taking place the week of October 3-7 by the office.  Our first meeting time will be Thursday Oct 13th  from 2:30-4:30 in the Sanborn FACS room.    We will meet for 4 Thursdays, Oct 13th, Oct 20th, Nov 3rd and Nov 10th.Only sign up if you can attend ALL 4 Thursdays!!  There is room for 20 students: 10 from Sanborn, 10 from Peabody. Students will be RANDOMLY picked from the list of students who sign up.

Lego Robotics:  Meets every Thursday and Friday from 2:30 – 4:30 at Sanborn in room 108.  If you have any questions contact Ms. Moss at smoss@concordps.org.

Math Counts meets every Friday at Sanborn in room 101 from 2:30 to 3:40.  Students who enjoy mathematics prepare for and participate in a regional math tournament solving problems as a team and as individuals. Success can lead to state and national tournaments.  Advisor: Aram Boornazian

Media Audio Visual Club: Sign ups for this new club are happening between now and October 13. The club will meet in Sanborn’s Room 102, every other Wednesday,  beginning Wednesday October 13, from 2:30-3:30. We will learn how to use AV recording equipment, run the microphones and sound for the school assemblies and the musical, and create videos and pictures for the hallway TV screens. Students should stop by the front office for a sign up form.

Model United Nations will meet again on Thursday, October 13 in Sanborn Library from 2:30-3:40.  Any students is welcome to join the club, grades 6-8.  Please see Mr. Robbins or Mr. Murphy with any questions.  A schedule of Model UN meetings can be found on Google Calendar. The Pokemon Club will start on Monday, October 17th from 2:30-3:30 in the Sanborn FACS room.  It is a fun place to meet and talk to other students who enjoy the game.  We will hold battles and discuss various Pokemon topics.   Bring your DS, 3DS, 5th and 6th generation games and chargers.  Please plan to take the 3:30 late bus or have a parent pick you up at 3:30.  Please see Ms. Cunningham with any questions.

Animals and Planet Club next meetings will be 10/19, 10/26 and 11/9  from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab (then every other Wednesday). The Animals and Planet club is part of Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots organization. We create and plan projects that make positive changes happen for animals, the environment and our communities.  Come with your ideas for this year!  Last year we planned the Silent Auction and Photo Contest to help the fisher and migratory birds at Drumlin Farm’s Wildlife Sanctuary (check out animalsandplanet.weebly.com). In past year’s we have also helped NEADS, Buddy Dog and Nevin’s Farm. Contact Ms. Peskin or any member of Animals and Planet with questions.
