Intramural Field Hockey meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30 at Sanborn.  Please bring goggles, mouthguards and shin guards to practice.

Animals and Planet Club invites you to our first meeting this year is TODAY from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab (then every other Wednesday). The Animals and Planet club is part of Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots organization. We create and plan projects that make positive changes happen for animals, the environment and our communities.  Come with your ideas for this year!  Last year we planned the Silent Auction and Photo Contest to help the fisher and migratory birds at Drumlin Farm’s Wildlife Sanctuary (check out animalsandplanet.weebly.com). In past year’s we have also helped NEADS, Buddy Dog and Nevin’s Farm. Contact Ms. Peskin or any member of Animals and Planet with questions. Plan to take the 3:40 late bus or have a parent pick you up at 3:40.

Flag football meets on Mondays for 6th graders from 2:30-4:30 and 7th/8th Graders meet on Wednesdays. Please plan to have a ride or take late bus!

Ultimate Frisbee meets on Thursdays and Fridays at Sanborn from 2:30-4:30.  Please be sure to have a ride or take the bus at 4:30.

Lego Robotics:   Meets every Thursday and Friday from 2:30 – 4:30.  If you have any questions contact Ms. Moss at smoss@concordps.org for more information.

Rubik’s Cube:  Would you like to discover how to solve the Rubik’s Cube?  Do you already know how to solve the cube and would like to learn new tricks, improve your time, and help others master the cube?  Join us on Mondays from 2:30 – 3:40 in Sanborn 101 with Ms. Katsaris.  We will practice together, create mosaics, and participate in competitions throughout the year.  Beginners and experts welcome!

Dungeon and Dragons starts on Wednesday, September 21st from 2:30-4:30 in room 119 at Sanborn.

MATH TEAM kick off is NEXT Thursday 9/22 in Sanborn room 205! Kick off will begin after school and go until the 3:30 late bus. Math team is a competitive team that competes against neighboring schools Framingham, Sudbury and Lincoln. We have 5 competitions a year and practices every Thursday. No tryouts necessary for math team, just come ready to get your math on! Please see/email Ms. Helinski for more questions.

Model UN will meet for the first time on Thursday, September 29 from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Library.  Any students in grades 6-8 are welcome to attend. Please see Mr. Robbins or Mr. Murphy with any questions.

Directed Study: Students with Library passes may come to the Library during Directed Study periods.  Come to the Library before school or during the day to sign out a pass.  Students will show the pass to the Directed Study teacher then bring the pass to the Library.  Twenty passes will be available each day. Of course, you are always welcome to stop in to check out a book.

The CMS Student Leaders are announcing their first event of the year: the Logo Contest! You will design a logo that you think represents CMS, and the winner will get to see their logo displayed on t-shirts and other items available for purchase. Also, the winner of the contest will receive a free t-shirt featuring their winning logo. Submissions should be fairly simple, as simple designs are easier to reproduce, and should include your name, grade level, and building on the back. There will be a box in the library to submit your design. Entries will be closed on September 26th. Time to get drawing!

Concord Castaways: We are in week #2 and the focus is scavenging!  Tribes should work together to divide the tasks and challenge.  The challenge earns a free card; one per tribe.  This week’s challenge will be posted on the Concord Castaways LibGuide page on Wednesday… Remember – for group tasks each participant should request a task card to bring back to their homeroom.  Good luck!
