I hope you all had a lovely weekend.  We are headed to the end of the school year quite quickly. I have a few important updates for you below.

SURVEYS

Please complete the CMS Parent survey below to help us make decisions about communication next year. The Student Survey will be completed in homeroom Wednesday, but I have included a link in case your family needs it. Both are very short surveys, but will be very helpful to us.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR LAPTOPS June 9 & 10 and 16 & 17

Thank you to all who have already volunteered for spring computer collection or fall computer distribution. We still have a very high need for all dates. Please link here to volunteer.

PREPARATION FOR COMPUTER TURN-IN

At home, please work with your child(ren) to ensure that s/he/they have all accessories to turn in on their assigned date, and that all items have been cleaned at home beforehand. Screens and keyboards must be cleaned with electronics-safe wipes when the computer is OFF. Skins and cases may be cleaned with these as well, or with regular wipes. Please ensure that cases are free from debris. Students will have the opportunity to do a follow-up cleaning in homeroom, but this is a final step and should not be the initial cleaning.

FALL COMPUTER DISTRIBUTION

Computers will be distributed prior to the start of the school year, August 23, 24 & 25. If your family is not available to get your computer at these times, your child will receive it during the first few days of school. Links to the Acceptable Use Policy and the CMS Laptop Expectations and Loan Agreement will be sent out before the end of the school year. It is important to note that all agreements must be signed and accepted before a student can receive a computer.

8th GRADE DC TRIP REMINDERS

All medical information and supplies should have already been provided to Ms. Jenkinson or Ms. Bell. Please remember that there will be a student meeting Friday after school from 2:30-3:40. Students may take the late bus home. Additionally, the bus to DC will leave promptly Monday morning at 5:30 a.m. without exception. Plan to arrive by 5:00-5:10 to check in with chaperones for luggage tags. Link to the trip itinerary here. Please note that all buses are peanut and tree-nut free, so snacks should comply.

CMS INTERIM ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL SEARCH

We had 19 viable candidates for the interim assistant principal position and invited four in to meet with the hiring committee on June 26th. Two candidates were selected come for site visits, and we held those on June 2nd and 3rd. Candidates toured the school buildings, and met informally with members of staff, student leaders, and parent reps from the hiring committee. Feedback was solicited from all stakeholders. This week we will be contacting references and plan to recommend one candidate to the superintendent for the final interview.
