About 7th Grade Science

The seventh grade life science program explores the nature of living things.

Major topics include:
Ecology: Interactions among Living Things and the Environment
The Building Blocks of Life: Cells and Microbiology
Human Body Systems and Organization of Multicellular Life
Genetics: DNA and Heredity
Adaptations and Evolution 

Throughout the year, lessons focus on biodiversity and adaptations of various life forms. Learning experiences include work with top quality digital microscopes, research, laboratory investigation, and participation in a long term study of a vernal pool within our schoolyard ecosystem. Scientific skill building emphasizes keen observation, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analytical problem solving.
