Community Celebrations Calendar: Have you noticed the large calendars on display at Peabody and Sanborn? The bulletin boards highlight observances, holidays and other dates occurring from January 12-February 11. If you would like to help us maintain a monthly bulletin board & calendar, please come to a meeting on Thursday, February 9 at 2:30 in Ms Bjerke’s room at Sanborn. We’ll be planning our display for February and maybe even March!
Media AV Club: Our next meeting is Thursday February 9th we will meet in room 102 from 2:30-3:30. We will make new slides for the monitors using Google Drawing and see who is interested in running the soundboard for this year’s Musical “Seussical.”
Chef’s Club meets again on February 9 from 2:30-4:30 in the Sanborn FACS room. We will meet on Feb 16 and March 3.
6/7 Winter Dance – The seventh graders will be hosting a 6/7 grade dance to support Water for South Sudan, a nonprofit organization started by Salva Dut, that helps the villages of south Sudan get access to clean water. Water for South Sudan can change their lives, they drill wells that will provide a constant flow of clean healthy water for the South Sudanese. The dance will be held on February 10th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM in the Sanborn cafeteria. Tickets are $10 each and only sold at the door. It is a Valentine’s day theme, so wear as much red and pink as you can find.
Intramural Volleyball begins on Friday, March 3 from 2:30-4:30 in the Sanborn gym. We will also meet on the following days:Thur / Fri March 9 and 10, Monday, Mar 13, Thur / Fri March 16 and 17,Thur / Fri March 23 and 24,Thur / Fri March 30 and 31,Thur / Fri April 6 and 7th.
Animals and Planet Club next meetings are Wednesdays 2/15 and 3/1 from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab. We are working on the endangered animal project and helping some local shelters and organizations. Minecraft Club meets again on February 15 in the Peabody computer lab from 2:30-3:30. At dismissal, Sanborn students should take bus 14 over to Peabody and come upstairs to the lab. Meetings are planned for the following dates: March 8 , 22, April 5, 26, May 3, 17,31 and June 14.
