October Reading Spook-a-thon! Check out a spooky book or mystery, then read, review, and rate it on the DESTINY library catalog to get your name in the cauldron for a Halloween drawing. Instructions for reviewing/rating books on Destiny is on our libguide site. Questions? Stop by the library.

7/8 grade Halloween Dance is on Friday, October 28 from 7:00-9:00 pm in the Sanborn cafeteria. Tickets are $5.00 each and will only be sold at the door. Costumes are welcome!! Please come to school in appropriate costumes (no full masks or fake weapons). Also, there will be a Boston bus leaving @ 9:00 pm going to Franklin Park. Please sign up in the office if you are interested in taking the bus.

Science Olympiad: Room 108 at Sanborn. Meetings will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 – 4:30. If you have any questions, email Ms. Moss at smoss@concordps.org.

Intramural Field Hockey meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30 at Sanborn. Please bring goggles, mouthguards and shin guards to practice.

Creative Writing meets on Mondays. We will meet in room 104 from 2:30-3:40. Everyone is welcome!!

Art Club meets again on Monday, from 2:30-3:40 in Ms. Shea’s art room.

The Pokemon Club will meet on Monday, from 2:30-3:30 in the Sanborn FACS room. It is a fun place to meet and talk to other students who enjoy the game. We will hold battles and discuss various Pokemon topics. Bring your DS, 3DS, 5th and 6th generation games and chargers. Please plan to take the 3:30 late bus or have a parent pick you up at 3:30. Flag football meets on Mondays for 6th graders and on Wednesdays for ⅞ graders and Thursday for 6th graders. We will meet on the Sanborn field until 4:30. This is the last week for Flag Football.

Dungeon and Dragons will not meet this week

Animals and Planet Club next meetings will be 10/26 and 11/9 from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab (then every other Wednesday). The Animals and Planet club is part of Jane Goodall’s Roots and Shoots organization. We create and plan projects that make positive changes happen for animals, the environment and our communities. Come with your ideas for this year! Last year we planned the Silent Auction and Photo Contest to help the fisher and migratory birds at Drumlin Farm’s Wildlife Sanctuary (check out animalsandplanet.weebly.com). In past year’s we have also helped NEADS, Buddy Dog and Nevin’s Farm. Contact Ms. Peskin or any member of Animals and Planet with questions. Plan to take the 3:40 late bus or have a parent pick you up at 3:40.
