Thursday, April 14 – E DAY

Thank you to all who participated in our annual read off! During the month of March, a total of 1,488 books were logged.The sixth grade led the way, reading a total of 990 books, the 7th grade followed with 362. Ms Cotter’s and Ms. Hogan’s homerooms were the homeroom winners, winning 50 points towards the homeroom cup. Thank you to all of the staff who aligned with home rooms, read books for the read off, and allowed students to come to the library to check out books and log their reading.

Ultimate Frisbee will resume right after break, starting Monday April 25.  It will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at Sanborn until 4:30.  Everyone is welcome – come on out and play!

Attention 8th graders: Washington roommate forms will be emailed to parents after April break.

This is a reminder that there will be a Washington Trip Meeting on Tuesday, May 17th in the Sanborn Auditorium from 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm.  The meeting is for both parents and students to attend.  We will review details of the trip (i.e. itinerary, room assignments, bus assignments, chaperones, contact info, packing list, meals, departure and arrival, etc.).   All parents and their children are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting.  Mr. Stern- Washington Trip Leader.

The first meeting of the Pottery Club is today after school at Peabody until 4:30 in Ms. Balian’s art room.  Take bus 60 at dismissal. The final list of students who will be attending are posted in the offices. We will explore a variety of handbuilding methods, and even have an opportunity to try the wheel.   The club will meet for a total of eight Thursdays.  Ms. Roosenburg is the instructor.

6th Grade Sanborn Spirit Week: All 6th grade students and teachers at Sanborn are invited to celebrate our community with a spirit week!   TODAY students dress like teachers and teachers dress like students.  On Friday, wear your coziest pajamas and rock a crazy hairstyle.

Girls softball intramurals  will meet every Wednesday and Friday at Sanborn until 4:30 pm.  Please be sure to bring your glove. Make sure you have a ride or take the bus.

Any students participating in the Music in the Parks field trip, please get your permission slip in by the end of this week! You can find the permission slip outside of the main office or on the music department page under resources: https://cms.concordps.org/music/

Update: Ms. Shea’s (6th), Ms. Bochicchio’s (7th) and Ms. Bjerke’s (8th) homerooms are leading the Homeroom Cup challenge for the Drumlin Farm Photo and Artwork contest. The deadline for your entries is the Friday after April break (4/29). Boxes for entries and donations are in the Main Office. 1st Prize is Principal for the Day, 2nd Prize is Pick a Spirit Week, 3rd Prize is a $10 gift certificate from Brine’s Supporting Goods (donated for each building).Thanks to everyone who participated in the Silent Auction to help Drumlin Farm. We raised over $290! Thank you!
