FRIDAY, MARCH 18 – E DAY

Do you want to be Principal for the Day? Are you an artist or photographer? Enter the CMS Photo and Drawing Contest and help the fisher and migratory birds at Drumlin Farm. Enter photography or artwork on any of these subjects: nature, wildlife or pets. Submit 8×10 photos or artwork in the box in the main office. Include a donation of $1, $3 or $5. For every entry you will get 1, 3 or 5 tickets. Homeroom with the most entries will get 50 points towards the Homeroom cup. Prizes will be drawn at random – first prize is Principal for the Day, 2nd Prize is choose a Spirit Day and 3rd prize gift or gift card from local business.  Entry deadline is April 8th!  See the signs up around school or check animalsandplanet.weebly.com/ for more info.

Postural Screening will take place during gym classes in both buildings starting on Monday through April 1.  Girls, please wear a sports bra or bathing suit top. If we have specific documentation that screening was done by your MD within the last year, you will be excused from screening. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact your building nurse.

Laptop Expectations: Please remember that it is a violation of the CMS Laptop Expectations Agreement to download and install software onto your school laptop. This includes Chrome extensions and add-ons. Consequences include loss of laptop privileges for a period of time or permanently.

All Students MUST have a pass to leave the cafeteria. If you do not have one, cafeteria supervisors will not allow you to leave, so please remember to ask your teacher BEFORE going to lunch.

Intramural Volleyball meets TODAY until 4:30 at Sanborn.. Please be sure to have a ride or take the bus at 4:30.

LIBRARY READ OFF: Our annual read off ends April 1st..  This year’s competition will be between home rooms…we will keep a running tally on display in the library – the homeroom who reads the most books during the read off will earn 50 points towards the year-long “Homeroom Cup” (to add to points earned during Halloween and Maroon/Gold day)!  Teachers are encouraged to align with a homeroom and participate too.

SLASH!!  1 DAYS LEFT! Sign up this week to participate in our Student Leaders Amazing Scavenger Hunt.  This two week scavenger hunt, organized by the Student Leaders to raise funds for Harlem Lacrosse and Leadership,  starts on March 21st.  Rules of the game are available in the library.  Form a team of two, and split the cost of $4 and you’re in – sign ups continue through this week!

Intramural tennis will begin on Monday, April 4th (weather permitting).  Sessions will be held on Mondays and Thursdays. Advanced players will meet Mondays and intermediate/beginner players will meet Thursdays at Rideout field in West Concord.  Students interested in learning how to play tennis or improve your skills should sign up in the main office.  There will be a general meeting on Thursday, March31st in the Sanborn  cafeteria from 2:40 – 3:30.  Please plan to take the late bus home or have a parent pick-up on that day.  Any questions please email Ms. Talbot. ktalbot@concordps.org

7th and 8th graders are invited to sign-up for spring sports outside the office at each building. Students must have a current physical on file with the nurse in order to participate. Softball and baseball will begin tryouts on Monday, April 4 (weather permitting).  In addition to a physical, students and parents must complete a try-out expectations form before the first day of try-outs. Track practice will begin also begin on Monday, April 4.

Animals and Planet Club meets again on  March 30 from 2:30-3:40 in the Sanborn Main Lab.
