Welcome to the Health Department
At Concord Middle School, we believe that a solid education in health is crucial for students to lead fulfilling lives. Our Health Program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed and healthy decisions throughout their lives.
Health education is integrated into the curriculum for sixth, seventh, and eighth grades, addressing the physical, social, and emotional aspects of health. In sixth grade, students are introduced to a broad range of health concepts, fostering positive attitudes and behaviors towards themselves and others. By eighth grade, the program delves deeper into issues such as self-esteem, peer influence, decision-making, and substance abuse, tailored to the developmental stage of early adolescence.
Our approach emphasizes active participation, with a mix of class discussions, role-playing, and practical assignments designed to reinforce the concepts covered. We strive to create meaningful learning experiences that encourage students to respect themselves and others, ultimately promoting a healthier and more informed community.
We are dedicated to supporting your child's growth and well-being through comprehensive health education.
